Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Dog Gracie (ranked 1352 p4p, 2889 weight class) and Jett Denovan (ranked 192 p4p, 387 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Gang out. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie takes a kick to the side of the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Denovan.

Denovan wants the takedown. Gracie is fighting it off but Denovan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gracie's guard against the cage.
Gracie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Denovan is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Denovan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Denovan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
