Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mariusz Pudzianowski (ranked 24680 p4p, 5919 weight class) and Khalil Yan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mariusz Pudzianowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Khalil Yan!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yan wants to clinch.

Yan clinches with his opponent.
Pudzianowski blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Pudzianowski stalling against the cage.
Pudzianowski tries to pull guard but Yan won't allow it.
Pudzianowski jumps guard but Yan stands there with Pudzianowski around his waist. Pudzianowski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Our sources have told us that Pudzianowski has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Yan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A nice inside leg kick there by Pudzianowski. That's going to slow Yan down.
That kick from Pudzianowski tenderised Yan's leg. Yan is trying to keep his angry face on.
Yan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pudzianowski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pudzianowski wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Yan manages to pass to side control.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Yan lands a nice short elbow.
Yan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pudzianowski on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Yan stands up out of the half guard.
Pudzianowski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A low kick lands for Pudzianowski.
An inside leg kick from Pudzianowski misses.
Pudzianowski thumps Yan with a low kick.
Yan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pudzianowski.

Pudzianowski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mariusz Pudzianowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Yan! But no joy.
Pudzianowski tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Yan is able to avoid easily.
Yan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Pudzianowski lands a nice leg kick that just misses Yan's sensitive parts.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Yan checks a leg kick.

Yan stuffs the takedown attempt from Pudzianowski. Pudzianowski gets slowly back to his feet.
Yan's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pudzianowski tried to score with a low kick but Yan checks it.
Yan is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Pudzianowski throws a low kick, looking for Yan's leg but Yan calmly moves out of range.

Yan moves into the clinch successfully.
Yan tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Yan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Yan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pudzianowski pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Yan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pudzianowski throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Yan darts in and clinches Pudzianowski up against the cage.

Yan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pudzianowski regains guard immediately.
Yan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Yan pushes down on Pudzianowski's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Yan drops an elbow to the side of Pudzianowski's head.

Yan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Yan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pudzianowski looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Khalil Yan dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A nice leg kick from Pudzianowski, right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice takedown defense from Pudzianowski. No joy for Yan on that attempt.
Pudzianowski tries to counter by clinching up but Yan breaks away and moves out of range.
Pudzianowski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yan.
Yan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pudzianowski tries to avoid it but Yan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pudzianowski to the ground. Pudzianowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pudzianowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yan on the ground.
Pudzianowski wants to control but Yan is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Yan prevents Pudzianowski from improving his position.
Yan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Pudzianowski has hold of Yan's hands but Yan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Yan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Yan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pudzianowski has hold of Yan's hands but Yan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Yan with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Yan is continuing to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Pudzianowski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

and Yan counters with a takedown into side control.
Yan staying calm.

Yan tries for a kimura but Pudzianowski is defending well.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Pudzianowski is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Yan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Yan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
A lull in the action here as Yan stalls from top position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Khalil Yan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Pudzianowski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yan.

Yan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pudzianowski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pudzianowski has escaped and now he's on top!

Yan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pudzianowski defends it easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pudzianowski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pudzianowski throwing strikes from guard but Yan blocks nicely.

Yan lands some strikes from the bottom.
Pudzianowski postures up in Yan's guard and throws a big left but Yan blocks it.
Yan wants to sweep here but Pudzianowski controlling him for the moment.
Yan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Yan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Yan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pudzianowski's head.
Yan tries to free his leg and advance position but Pudzianowski is retaining full guard.

Yan passes into half guard.
Yan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pudzianowski!

Yan looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Yan lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pudzianowski hang on?

Yan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pudzianowski is trying to stand.
Mariusz Pudzianowski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Khalil Yan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Yan cracks Pudzianowski with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight!
Khalil Yan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Yan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
