Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Steel Ii (ranked 3311 p4p, 4250 weight class) and Kahdi Mandinos (ranked 417 p4p, 504 weight class). Alex Steel Ii has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Steel Ii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Kahdi Mandinos! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mandinos is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Steel Ii is looking to counter punch. Mandinos takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A combination from Steel Ii does no damage. Mandinos shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mandinos. Steel Ii throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Steel Ii throws a sloppy head kick and Mandinos moves out of range easily. Mandinos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Steel Ii manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Steel Ii has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mandinos off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mandinos takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Steel Ii moves into the clinch. Mandinos jumps into guard, dragging Steel Ii to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel Ii sitting in guard, not really doing much. Mandinos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Steel Ii controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mandinos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steel Ii is aware though and is defending well. Steel Ii trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mandinos's guard. Mandinos wants to sweep here but Steel Ii controlling him for the moment. Steel Ii content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mandinos looking for a sweep. Not yet Mandinos, not yet. Mandinos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Steel Ii digs a good body shot into Mandinos's ribs. Mandinos rushes Steel Ii and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Steel Ii has a couple of punches blocked by Mandinos.
Steel Ii goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Steel Ii misses with some punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel Ii pushes off an throws an elbow but Mandinos leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Steel Ii misses with a hook to the ribs.
Steel Ii lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Steel Ii lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mandinos or not. Steel Ii doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mandinos has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Steel Ii clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Steel Ii staying busy and making it hard for Mandinos to control. Well, with Mandinos on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Steel Ii is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Steel Ii looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mandinos controlling the position well here. Steel Ii rolled but Mandinos kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Steel Ii staying busy and making it hard for Mandinos to control. Steel Ii surviving as best he can, preventing damage. Steel Ii trying to control the hands but Mandinos breaks the grip. Mandinos is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Steel Ii has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Mandinos has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Steel Ii taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Mandinos doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kahdi Mandinos!
