Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Harry McQuirre (ranked 659 p4p, 950 weight class) and Anders Hansson (ranked 79 p4p, 106 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry McQuirre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anders Hansson! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McQuirre doesn't seem bothered though. A clash of legs there as Hansson blocks the low kick. Hansson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McQuirre. McQuirre missing with a left hand there. Hansson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Thud! ouch! good body kick from McQuirre - that will leave a mark!
McQuirre throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hansson misses with a head kick.
Hansson scores with a hook to the body. McQuirre takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. McQuirre throws a lazy body kick and Hansson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Harry McQuirre has been cut. Hansson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hansson gets tackled into the cage by McQuirre. McQuirre maintains the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hansson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Hansson - that landed with a thud.
Hansson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McQuirre backwards. A nice left hand lands by McQuirre.
I was talking to McQuirre's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Hansson tries to work over McQuirre's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. McQuirre lands a hook to the side of the head. Hansson lands a shoulder strike. Hansson has a couple of punches blocked by McQuirre.
Hansson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hansson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The fight stays on the outside here - McQuirre looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hansson throws a head kick that misses. A slow jab from Hansson misses its intended target. McQuirre is looking to clinch but Hansson is avoiding it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McQuirre lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hansson misses with a straight right. McQuirre finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
McQuirre checks a leg kick nicely. Hansson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McQuirre. The fight stays on the outside here - McQuirre looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Harry McQuirre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hansson tries a head kick but it misses.
McQuirre scores with a sloppy right hand. Hansson should have avoided that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McQuirre slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. McQuirre slips a jab from Hansson. Hansson moves out of range of the strikes. McQuirre tries to clinch but Hansson moves out of range. Hansson throws a big counter head kick but McQuirre avoids it with no problem. McQuirre darts in trying to clinch and Hansson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. McQuirre really felt that one! McQuirre misses with a body kick. Hansson swats away the attempt to clinch by McQuirre.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McQuirre with a nice cross. McQuirre with a nice calf kick. McQuirre lands a head kick!
Hansson misses with an uppercut
and McQuirre counters with a straight right hand. McQuirre lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hansson is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hansson throws a body punch but McQuirre moves out of range. McQuirre throws a counter high kick but Hansson was just alert enough to avoid it. Hansson is still on wobbly legs! Can McQuirre finish him? Hansson gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! McQuirre points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Hansson wakes up just in time to hear McQuirre thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Harry McQuirre! Harry McQuirre spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
