Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tree Fortay (ranked 753 p4p, 505 weight class) and Jewel Diaz (ranked 89 p4p, 64 weight class). Fortay's entrance music is The Choice Is Yours. A fine choice. Diaz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Andre Nickatina, Drought Season. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fortay is trying to defend but Diaz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Diaz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Diaz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fortay with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Diaz looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Diaz is keen to just control but Fortay is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fortay's coaches at Jed's Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Fortay is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Diaz pulls his head out easily.

Diaz thows an elbow strike that misses. Fortay gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Diaz doesn't seem too bothered but Fortay quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Diaz is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Diaz really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
