Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Johnson (ranked 4467 p4p, 4505 weight class) and Alfred Nobel (ranked 495 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Johnson ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alfred Nobel! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson darts in looking for a takedown but Nobel gets double underhooks and turns Johnson into the cage. Nobel has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Johnson after a bit of a struggle. Johnson is trying to force a seperation but Nobel has the dominant position. Nobel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nobel. Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nobel. Nobel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Johnson . Nobel shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Nobel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Matthew Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alfred Nobel. Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nobel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nobel moves into the clinch. Nobel lands with a left to the head. Nobel displaying some good clinch control by pressing Johnson up against the cage. Johnson is trying to stall.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nobel quickly recovers to half guard. Johnson working the head and body with strikes. Johnson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Johnson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nobel is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Nobel wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Nobel is doing well to control the position and prevent Johnson from advancing to side control. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow. Nobel works his way to full guard. Good work. Johnson looking to pass the guard. Nobel is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nobel looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nobel has his foot on Johnson 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though. Nobel keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Johnson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nobel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Nobel's legs - danger averted.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Johnson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nobel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nobel somewhat. Nobel looks winded! Nobel takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Nobel tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch. Johnson slowing the pace effectively. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nobel lands a good knee to the midsection. Johnson won't want to take too many of those. Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nobel instigates a clinch. Johnson tries to break free but Nobel pushes him back against the cage. Johnson prevents a takedown attempt there.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nobel takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Nobel drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.
A solid body kick from Johnson . We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Nobel. Johnson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Nobels head. Nobel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Nobel tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Nobel back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Nobel is rocked! Nobel is breathing heavily. Johnson moves into the clinch. Nobel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson 's efforts to push away. Johnson 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nobel. Johnson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Matthew Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alfred Nobel. Johnson connects with a solid leg kick. Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nobel wants to counter with a clinch but Johnson pushes him away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Nobel moves out of range of the leg kick from Johnson .
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nobel looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well. Johnson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Nobel misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Nobel tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Nobel back to his feet - he wants the finish! Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nobel tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch. Nobel looking for a takedown. Nobel jumps guard but Johnson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to slow Nobel down with leg kicks. Johnson lands a two punch combo.
Johnson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nobel sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Matthew Johnson is winning the standup battle so far. Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Nobel working aggressively here.
Nobel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson tests Nobel's chin there with a solid looking shot. Johnson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Johnson lands a left and a right that send Nobel crashing to the mat, dazed. Johnson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Nobel is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nobel gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Johnson gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
