Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between William Tate (ranked 5695 p4p, 5459 weight class) and Tommy Gunn (ranked 103 p4p, 101 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Tate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Gunn! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunn throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Tate tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gunn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gunn swinging wildly here.

Gunn keeps the fight on the outside. Gunn keeps the fight on the outside. Gunn throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Gunn misses with a double jab.
Tate throws a combination that misses and Gunn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gunn. Gunn manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gunn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Tate instigates a clinch. Gunn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tate tries to clinch but Gunn moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Tate moves out of range of the body kick. Tate tries to clinch up. Tate fails in his attempt to clinch. A head kick by Gunn misses and Tate counters with a two punch combo. Tate scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Tommy Gunn has been cut. Tate tries to bum rush Gunn with a series of wild strikes but Gunn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gunn tries to counter by closing the distance. Gunn looks to score with a jab to the body but Tate is just out of range. Tate looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Gunn looks to score with a jab to the body but Tate is just out of range. Tate is looking to clinch but Gunn is avoiding it.
Tate blocks the body kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Gunn. Tate lands a slapping body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tate misses with a few strikes there.

The fight stays on the outside here - Tate looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice body punch from Tate. Tate moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Tate misses with a combination
and Gunn counters with an inside leg kick. Gunn looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Tate just misses with a punch to the body.
A combination from Tate does no damage. Tate swinging wildly here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tate. Gunn does a little dance to reset his feet. Gunn lands with a kick to the ribs.
Gunn lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Tate tries to clinch but Gunn is having none of it. Nice uppercut there from Gunn.
It looks like William Tate has been cut. Gunn uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tate has time to react. Tate tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gunn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gunn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Gunn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tate takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gunn connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Tate is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tate doesn't seem bothered though. Oh Tate is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Tate is breathing heavily. Tate throws a series of punches but Gunn moves out of range. Gunn lands a front kick. Tate seems to have got his legs back now. Tate keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Look low, kick high! Gunn uses the oldest trick in the book to send Tate tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Gunn is absolutely delighted - when Tate wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tommy Gunn!
