PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Edmonds (ranked 1333 p4p, 1384 weight class) and Edward Grubbs (ranked 202 p4p, 212 weight class). Edmonds's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Grubbs!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grubbs digs a good body shot into Edmonds's ribs.
We've been hearing reports that Edmonds has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Edmonds works to advance to full mount. Grubbs defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Edmonds takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Grubbs felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

I would just about give that final round to Edward Grubbs.
