Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, DeShawn West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Torkel Bystrom!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Bystrom. Beautiful body shot.
West takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nice shot lands for West.
Bystrom slips under a jab.
Nice defenses there by West.
Bystrom misses with the body kick
and Bystrom takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
West takes a swing at Bystrom's ribcage but misses.
Bystrom lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
West on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've been told by West's head coaches at Mystic Gym of the Outworld that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
West misses with a looping right.
West with a body punch. A glancing blow.
West swats away the attempt to clinch by Bystrom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bystrom takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A left lands for West.
Bystrom tries to close the distance and clinch but West swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bystrom lands with a slapping head kick.
West is rocked!
West scores with a jab.
and West counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Bystrom! He's just covering up as West starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). DeShawn West!
DeShawn West was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
The defeated Torkel Bystrom had this to say: 'Well back to the gym.'.
