Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phuc Tran (ranked 3521 p4p, 3972 weight class) and Len Drew (ranked 324 p4p, 346 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Phuc Tran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Len Drew!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drew connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Drew tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tran was well out of range. Poor timing from Drew.
Tran tries to counter by clinching up but Drew breaks away and moves out of range.
Tran tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drew paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Drew counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Drew looking to sit in guard and control but Tran gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Drew wants to sweep here but Tran controlling him for the moment.
Tran might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Drew pulls Tran in close to his closed guard and prevents Tran from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drew looking for a sweep. Not yet Drew, not yet.
Tran wants to control from the top but Drew keeps moving.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Tran has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Drew is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Drew looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Tran is not content to let Drew control the position.
Drew connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Tran some visible discomfort.
Drew is chipping away with strikes.
Tran is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Drew scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Tran definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Drew seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Drew passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tran!

Drew lands a heavy elbow.
Drew postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tran looks a forlorn figure.
Drew is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Tran gets back to half guard.
Tran is not content to let Drew control the position.
Drew moves into full mount! Tran won't be happy about that!
Tran takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drew punishing his opponent with strikes.
Drew has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tran's face.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Drew with a couple of short strikes.
Tran working to try and regain half guard.
Drew postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tran looks a forlorn figure.
Drew has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Drew scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drew is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tran can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Tran is looking to improve his position but Drew isn't that keen on the idea.

Tran takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Tran is trying to escape the mount.
Drew landing punches.
Drew lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tran is bucking up trying to escape but Drew cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Tran is rocked!

Oh Tran is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Drew looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Tran covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Our winner, Len Drew, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
