PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dessy Nunu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killarus McCloud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunu's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, AK47. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McCloud is fending him off so far but Nunu persists. Nope, McCloud circles away and we're back to standing.
McCloud tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nunu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nunu scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Nice takedown defense from Nunu. No joy for McCloud on that attempt.
Nunu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling McCloud to counter with a crisp jab.

and McCloud counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dessy Nunu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McCloud seems to be working for a kimura but Nunu defends the submission attempt.
Nunu is looking to improve his position.

McCloud chips away with some ground and pound.
Nunu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nunu looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McCloud puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nunu makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Nunu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nunu not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Nunu is looking to take a break and control but McCloud is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McCloud is pressing down on Nunu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
McCloud is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McCloud looks gassed!

McCloud manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nunu manages to get himself to full guard.

Nunu with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing McCloud can't handle though.
Nunu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McCloud controls the pace.

Nunu throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nunu is on top in guard.
Nunu landing with the ground and pound.
McCloud not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Killarus McCloud dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and McCloud counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nunu won't be happy with that.
Nunu is not content to let McCloud control the position.
Nunu is trying to improve his position.
McCloud wants to take a breather but Nunu manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for McCloud.
Nunu throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCloud is breathing heavily.

Nunu striking off his back but it's not causing McCloud any problems.
Nunu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

McCloud content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Nunu has locked up a guillotine! Nunu's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? McCloud is holding on here and Nunu must be using up a lot of energy. McCloud has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Nunu gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
