Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rico Cole (ranked 3384 p4p, 21791 weight class) and Oliver Herdrich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gerardo's Rico Suave. Rico Cole has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Herdrich!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole throws a looping overhand right but Herdrich ducks down to avoid it.
A little jabbing left from Herdrich on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Herdrich throws an off balance right hand
and Cole cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Herdrich misses with a looping left.
Cole is looking for a counter combo.
Cole misses with a few strikes there.
Herdrich misses with a straight left.
Cole is looking to counter the offense by Herdrich and move into the clinch.
Herdrich misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Cole holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Cole keeps control of Herdrich as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Herdrich has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cole lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Herdrich backwards.
Herdrich throws a punch but it's blocked by Cole.
Cole working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Herdrich wants a takedown but no success here.
Cole pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cole is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Herdrich doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Herdrich manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cole seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Cole seems keen to control Herdrich's posture.

Herdrich got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cole has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Herdrich has managed to get both his arms back between Cole's legs - danger averted.
Herdrich sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Cole doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Herdrich paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Cole - great work!
