And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 9 losses; Koryu Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Cubbedge shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Miyagi napping and manages to drive through into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Cubbedge (4) vs (0) Miyagi
Miyagi is trying to control Cubbedge 's posture but Cubbedge avoids it.
Miyagi is looking to regain half guard here but Cubbedge keeps moving and retains side control.

Cubbedge slows the pace down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miyagi wants to control but Cubbedge is having none of it.

Miyagi can't escape the position.
Cubbedge can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Miyagi is looking to escape.
Cubbedge has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Miyagi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Miyagi wants to hold on but Cubbedge pushes him away.
Miyagi is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Cubbedge is staying active.
Cubbedge wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Miyagi reaches up to try and control the position but Cubbedge seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Miyagi rolls and tries to escape and now Cubbedge has his back!

Miyagi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Cubbedge working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
You can see the frustration on Miyagi's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miyagi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Miyagi looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Cubbedge is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Miyagi won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Cubbedge off his unconscious opponent!

A relieved looking Bart Cubbedge thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
