The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatsby connects with a leg kick.
Kitty wants to clinch
and Gatsby counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kitty looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gatsby is fending him off so far but Kitty persists. Nope, Gatsby circles away and we're back to standing.
Kitty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gatsby counters with a nice uppercut.
Kitty misses with a takedown
and Gatsby cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mister Kitty. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kitty misses with a lunging right hand
and Gatsby connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kitty has his takedown stuffed
letting Gatsby counter with a right hand.
Kitty fails with the takedown
and Gatsby counters with a stiff right hand.

Kitty shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kitty was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gatsby has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Let's hope that Gatsby has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
