Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fang Zhaohui!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Van Darkholme!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Zhaohui lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Darkholme has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Darkholme and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Darkholme lands a nice shot that snaps Zhaohui's head back.
Darkholme connects with a leg kick.
Darkholme drops his hands momentarily and Zhaohui takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Darkholme takes a swing at Zhaohui's ribcage but misses.
Zhaohui throws a poor cross that misses
and Darkholme counters with a left to the body.
Darkholme swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Darkholme looks to land a body kick but Zhaohui moved away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zhaohui walks into a straight right hand from Darkholme.
Darkholme misses with a looping left.
Zhaohui takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Darkholme bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Darkholme tries to clinch up.
Zhaohui gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Darkholme counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Darkholme lands a nice looking body shot.
Zhaohui misses with an uppercut. Darkholme saw that one coming.
Darkholme catches Zhaohui with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nice uppercut lands for Darkholme. That snapped Zhaohui's head back.
Darkholme throws a lazy right hand but Zhaohui sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zhaohui thinks about countering with a head kick.
Zhaohui takes a swing at Darkholme's ribcage but misses.
A big right from Zhaohui misses.
Darkholme throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zhaohui looks to throw a body kick
and Darkholme connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A jab from Darkholme misses.
Darkholme is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Zhaohui is rocked!
A head kick by Darkholme - that's a beauty! Zhaohui is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Darkholme can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Van Darkholme!
After winning the bout, Van Darkholme thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
