Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 22575 p4p, 5516 weight class) and Jamie Hutch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Hutch! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith lands a body shot.
Hutch looks winded! Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Hutch leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hutch was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard. Smith trying to control but Hutch is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is working Hutch over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Hutch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Smith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hutch for as long as he can get away with. Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hutch swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Smith sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Smith misses with a head kick.
Smith looking to score a takedown here. Hutch is defending well but Smith drives through and ends up in Hutch's guard. Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hutch is trying to hold Smith in close to prevent damage but Smith has managed to pass into half guard.
Smith is nestled in close to Hutch, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Smith working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow.
Hutch is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hutch is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him? The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Smith passes the guard and advances to mount! Smith softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Hutch is out cold! Smith jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Smith! John Smith tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
