Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Shewmaker (ranked 2029 p4p, 2277 weight class) and James Diamond (ranked 261 p4p, 285 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diamond misses with a hook.

Diamond is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shewmaker is keen to just control but Diamond is a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Shewmaker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shewmaker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Diamond sees it coming and defends easily.

We've been hearing good reports from Shewmaker's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Shewmaker is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Shewmaker is looking to work his way around to Diamond's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Shewmaker throws a wild left hand from mount and Diamond manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Robbie Shewmaker will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like James Diamond has been cut.

James Diamond seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shewmaker get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Shewmaker stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Diamond runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
