The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Siam drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A looping hook to the body misses from Siam. Dreth does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dreth wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Siam connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dreth momentarily.
Siam throws a hook to the side of Dreth's head but Dreth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Chan Siam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Siam moves to clinch but Dreth breaks away
and Dreth connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've been hearing reports that Dreth has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dreth has his foot on Siam's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Siam works his way back into a safe position though.
Dreth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Valen Dreth will probably get the nod.
