Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Max Holloway (ranked 2919 p4p, 4461 weight class) and Norman Coldwell Ii (ranked 0 p4p, 484 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Holloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Norman Coldwell Ii!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coldwell Ii tried to score with a low kick but Holloway checks it.
Holloway really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Holloway gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Coldwell Ii to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holloway tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Coldwell Ii is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Holloway is looking to sweep but instead, Coldwell Ii has passed into half guard.
Coldwell Ii tries to stand and escape but Holloway is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Coldwell Ii is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Coldwell Ii keeps the fight on the outside.
Holloway shoots in looking for a takedown but Coldwell Ii manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Holloway's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Holloway tries to sprawl but Coldwell Ii drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Coldwell Ii is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Holloway throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Holloway tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Coldwell Ii has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Coldwell Ii is working for a guillotine from mount but Holloway frees his head quite easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Holloway tries to hold on but Coldwell Ii pushes him away.

That's time! Holloway's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Coldwell Ii ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Holloway moves away.
Coldwell Ii takes one to the side of the head.

Coldwell Ii moves into the clinch successfully.
Coldwell Ii blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Holloway is trying to break the clinch but Coldwell Ii has him pressed against the cage.

Coldwell Ii's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Holloway on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holloway swings wildly with an uppercut but Coldwell Ii uses good head movement to avoid it.

Coldwell Ii has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Holloway uses from the top position.
Holloway wants to stand and escape but instead Coldwell Ii has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Holloway throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Coldwell Ii advances position into side control!
Holloway tries to escape but Coldwell Ii is in control.
Holloway is trying to get back to half guard.

Coldwell Ii is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Holloway has escaped the position, nice work there.
Holloway tries to bench press Coldwell Ii off him but Coldwell Ii keeps the position.

Coldwell Ii has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Holloway pushes Coldwell Ii away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Coldwell Ii gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Holloway looks to move to half guard but instead Coldwell Ii has passed into mount! Damn!
Holloway is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Coldwell Ii lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Coldwell Ii cracks Holloway with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Holloway wants to control but Coldwell Ii is having none of it.
Coldwell Ii controlling the pace for now.
Holloway is in a horrible position here. Coldwell Ii smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Coldwell Ii get's back to his feet.

Coldwell Ii throws a leg kick that misses.

Coldwell Ii has Holloway up against the cage in a clinch.
Holloway jumps guard but Coldwell Ii turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Coldwell Ii breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Holloway tries to pull guard but Coldwell Ii won't allow it.

Coldwell Ii gets control of Holloway's arms and successfully pulls guard. Coldwell Ii will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coldwell Ii is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Holloway is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Coldwell Ii working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Holloway doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Coldwell Ii is tightening it up a little... Holloway has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Holloway reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Holloway taps out! Nice BJJ there by Coldwell Ii!
