Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matthew Albans !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kick Boxer Jr!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albans closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Boxer Jr quickly recovers to half guard.
Boxer Jr is not content to let Albans control the position.
Albans tries to pass to full mount but Boxer Jr defends it.
Albans content to control rather than advance.
Boxer Jr trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Boxer Jr is wriggling around trying to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Albans looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Boxer Jr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Albans working for a guillotine from mount but Boxer Jr is in no mood to give up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boxer Jr has left one of his arms exposed and Albans doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Boxer Jr screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Matthew Albans !
Matthew Albans decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
