Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Magomed Khamzatov (ranked 3132 p4p, 3734 weight class) and Ben Jamin (ranked 390 p4p, 449 weight class). Magomed Khamzatov has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magomed Khamzatov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Jamin! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khamzatov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jamin did well to prevent Khamzatov getting side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Khamzatov not doing much here.
Khamzatov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jamin for as long as he can get away with. Khamzatov not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khamzatov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Khamzatov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Magomed Khamzatov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Khamzatov. Jamin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Khamzatov defends it well. Khamzatov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jamin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jamin can't do much from the bottom here. Jamin is trying to escape the position but Khamzatov is controlling the position. Jamin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Khamzatov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Jamin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Khamzatov to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Khamzatov controlling from the top position. Khamzatov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jamin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jamin has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khamzatov wants to hit a sweep here but Jamin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Khamzatov there! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jamin with a couple of short strikes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Magomed Khamzatov dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Khamzatov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jamin circles away. Jamin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Khamzatov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jamin to the mat! Jamin manages to get full guard. Magomed Khamzatov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Khamzatov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Khamzatov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jamin can do to turn this around?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khamzatov wants to get up but he can't break Jamin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Khamzatov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Khamzatov lands a nice short elbow. Jamin trying to control but Khamzatov postures up.
Khamzatov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jamin sees it coming and defends easily. Khamzatov trying to control the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Khamzatov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jamin circles away. Khamzatov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jamin defends it nicely. Jamin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Khamzatov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jamin was covering up waiting for the punch and Khamzatov finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jamin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Khamzatov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Khamzatov shoots in for a takedown but Jamin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jamin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magomed Khamzatov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Khamzatov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jamin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Khamzatov! Khamzatov taking a bit of punishment here - Jamin scoring with strikes. Khamzatov is trying to get back to half guard. Jamin has knee on belly and moves into mount. Khamzatov is squirming around, avoiding Jamin's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jamin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Khamzatov can't escape the position.
Jamin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Khamzatov's face.
Khamzatov tries to hold on but Jamin pushes him away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jamin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Khamzatov hang on? Khamzatov is bucking up trying to escape but Jamin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Khamzatov is rocked! Khamzatov is trying desperately to improve position. Oh Khamzatov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Jamin postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Khamzatov bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Jamin and the fight is over!
