Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kazekage Gaara (ranked 24509 p4p, 24687 weight class) and Tim Udrich (ranked 684 p4p, 676 weight class). Kazekage Gaara has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kazekage Gaara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Udrich!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaara misses with a takedown attempt - Udrich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Udrich looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gaara shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Udrich pinned against the cage. Udrich gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Udrich keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazekage Gaara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gaara drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Udrich wants to stand up but Gaara is controlling him.

Gaara closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Gaara has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Udrich is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gaara.

Udrich remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
