The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Planck slaps away a takedown attempt from Ryan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Planck misses the body punch
and Ryan counters with a body kick.
Ryan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ryan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Planck. Planck circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Max Planck has been cut.

Ryan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ryan is trying to control the action in half guard but Planck is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ryan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Planck is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ryan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ryan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ryan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ryan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Planck is pulling down on Ryan's head. It's preventing any offense from Ryan, at least for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ryan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Planck.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ryan tries to clinch up but Planck circles away and keeps his distance.
Planck misses with a jab, cross combination.
Max Planck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Planck lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Planck lands a jab to the nose.
Ryan staying out of range there.
Planck lands the left hand.
Planck lands a jab.
Ryan stalks Planck and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Planck's face. Planck staggers backwards, shaken.
Planck lands a jab to the head.
Ryan lands a leg kick that knocks Planck off balance momentarily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nathaniel Ryan will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Max Planck's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nathaniel Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Planck lands a nice hook to Ryan's body. Ryan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Planck counters with a huge left! Ryan is in big trouble! He's backing up but Planck isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Ryan from any more damage. A dominating finish by Planck!
