PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cajun Puto (ranked 3758 p4p, 2707 weight class) and Black Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cajun Puto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Caesar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puto moves out of range of the strikes.
Puto seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Caesar wants to clinch up but Puto keeps it at a distance.
Puto is looking to counter punch.
Caesar throws the left hand but Puto avoids the punch easily.
Puto throws a jab when Caesar was well out of range.
Caesar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Puto sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Puto was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Puto.
Caesar scores with a jab. Puto acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Puto ducks under a wild hook from Caesar.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Caesar crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Puto - the referee stops the clock and Caesar gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Puto. Caesar manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Puto slips a jab and a cross from Caesar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caesar misses with an uppercut.
Caesar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

It looks like Cajun Puto has been cut.
Caesar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Puto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Caesar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Puto is looking to take a break and control but Caesar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Puto is trying to get an arm triangle but Caesar is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Caesar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Puto throws an elbow but Caesar slips to the side and avoids it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Caesar can't do much from the bottom here.
Caesar is looking to reverse the position.
Puto tries to advance to mount but Caesar denies him.
Caesar is holding Puto down, trying to stall.

Puto tries for a kimura but Caesar is defending well.

Puto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Caesar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Puto working the ground and pound from side control.

Puto is trying to get an arm triangle but Caesar is defending well.
Puto remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Puto is looking to take a break and control but Caesar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Puto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Puto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Puto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Caesar is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Caesar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Caesar is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Puto tries to pass the half guard into mount. Caesar knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Caesar is concentrating on defense, preventing Puto from advancing position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cajun Puto dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Cajun Puto's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Caesar throws a hook but Puto avoids it easily.
Puto stuffs the takedown attempt from Caesar. Caesar gets slowly back to his feet.
Puto was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Puto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Caesar is looking to control Puto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Caesar avoid being mounted?
Puto is trying to control the action in half guard but Caesar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Caesar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Caesar felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Puto is working for a submission of some sort.
Caesar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Puto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Puto's back!

Caesar keeps control of the position as Puto tries to break free.
Puto breaks Caesar's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Puto wants to control from the top but Caesar keeps moving.
Puto won't allow Caesar to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Caesar is on top in guard.


Puto is looking to cinch up a triangle. Caesar throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Puto's body to avoid the submission. Puto has instead reached around Caesar's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Puto arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Cajun Puto!
After winning the bout, Cajun Puto thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
