Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Raul Sanchez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sim Polls! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polls connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Sanchez scores with a jab to the head.
Polls fails to land the takedown. Sanchez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sanchez connects with a looping right hand.
Sanchez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Polls shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense. Polls throws a leg kick but Sanchez sees it coming and checks it nicely. Polls changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sanchez tries to avoid it but Polls manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sanchez to the ground. Sanchez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Raul Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sim Polls. Polls gets caught flat footed, as Sanchez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Sanchez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Polls's head. Polls utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Polls working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sanchez landing with the ground and pound.

Sanchez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Polls gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sanchez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Polls is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sanchez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Polls wants the takedown. Sanchez is fighting it off but Polls persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sanchez's guard against the cage. Sanchez looking to control.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sanchez looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sanchez gets a takedown into half guard. Raul Sanchez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Polls is trying to control but can't.
