Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Funny (ranked 2771 p4p, 2697 weight class) and Stanislav Strakapoud (ranked 354 p4p, 345 weight class). Funny comes to the cage accompanied by Throw some D's on it. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Stanislav Strakapoud enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stanislav Strakapoud!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Funny shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Funny was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Strakapoud is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Funny defends well.
Funny has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Strakapoud working for a triangle but Funny defends it easily.

Strakapoud working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Funny doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Funny manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Funny is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Funny is nestled in close to Strakapoud, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Funny lands a nice short elbow.
Well, if Funny is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Funny is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Strakapoud is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Funny's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Funny's back!

Strakapoud is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Funny defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

I really don't envy Funny right now.

Funny wants to control from the top but Strakapoud keeps moving.

Funny is posturing up here but Strakapoud has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Funny tries to roll out but it's too tight and Funny has to tap! Slick submission there by Strakapoud!
