Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Horton (ranked 1408 p4p, 1823 weight class) and Thijs De Koning (ranked 213 p4p, 269 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Horton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thijs De Koning!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Koning gets a double leg takedown into Horton's guard.

Horton has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. De Koning has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

De Koning stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as De Koning accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

De Koning postures up in Horton's guard and throws a big left but Horton blocks it.

De Koning has gone for a leg lock! Horton slips out almost immediately though and dives into De Koning's guard.

Horton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of De Koning is proving hard to escape from.

De Koning takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Horton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

De Koning shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Horton napping and manages to drive through into side control!

De Koning swings around for an armbar but Horton sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into De Koning's guard.

De Koning is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

De Koning is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Horton defends well.
De Koning is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

De Koning isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Horton stacks De Koning on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Horton!

Horton decides to stand back up.
De Koning tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Horton defends well and De Koning ends up having to push Horton into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Horton was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looked like Horton wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Thijs De Koning seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Koning is looking to take a break and control but Horton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Horton avoids any damage from the ground and pound of De Koning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Horton is pushing De Koning's head away, looking to escape. De Koning manages to hold on to the position though.

De Koning tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no De Koning has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tim Horton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

De Koning closes the distance and clinches up with Horton, looking for a takedown. De Koning pushes Horton against the cage but Horton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Horton has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

and Horton counters with a huge left! De Koning is in big trouble! He's backing up but Horton isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save De Koning from any more damage. A dominating finish by Horton!
