PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bomstaerk (ranked 712 p4p, 4352 weight class) and Kevin Cool (ranked 94 p4p, 506 weight class). Kevin Cool will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Bomstaerk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Cool!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cool shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bomstaerk as he jumps to the side.
Bomstaerk is looking for a counter combo.
Cool takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cool walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bomstaerk throws a low kick, looking for Cool's leg but Cool calmly moves out of range.

Bomstaerk closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cool's guard.
We've been hearing that Bomstaerk has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Bomstaerk cracks Cool with a solid left hand.
Bomstaerk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cool working for a triangle but Bomstaerk defends it easily.

Cool looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bomstaerk connects with a nice short shot to Cool's temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bomstaerk passes into side control, despite Cool's attempt to control the position.
Bomstaerk takes a little break here. Cool wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Bomstaerk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cool down.

Bomstaerk lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Bomstaerk is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cool knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bomstaerk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bomstaerk lands a decent elbow from side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cool tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bomstaerk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bomstaerk is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cool looks calm but he's in trouble here. Bomstaerk gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cool is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Bomstaerk lets go of the hold and Cool can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bobby Bomstaerk!
