Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Acosta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acosta throws a right hand that misses
and Meyer counters with a nice body shot.
Acosta throws a looping overhand right but Meyer ducks down to avoid it.
Meyer thuds his right hand into Acosta's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looks like Hunter Acosta has been cut.

Meyer instigates a clinch.

Acosta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Acosta ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Meyer moves away.
Acosta misses with a double jab

so Meyer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Meyer wants to stand but Acosta is controlling his posture from full guard.

Acosta working for a triangle but Meyer defends it easily.
Meyer wants to control from the top but Acosta keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meyer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Meyer shoots in but Acosta avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Acosta looks to land a combination but Meyer avoids it well.
And Meyer tries to counter it with a takedown but Acosta pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Acosta looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Meyer moves into range and clinches up with Acosta.

Meyer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Acosta misses with a takedown attempt
and Meyer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Acosta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meyer.

Meyer shoots in for a takedown but Acosta shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Meyer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Acosta, pushing him back against the cage.
Meyer is working for takedown but Acosta is calmly controlling the position for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Acosta is staying active underneath Meyer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Meyer wants to take a breather but Acosta is having none of it.
Acosta preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Meyer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Acosta tries to throw a body punch but Meyer avoids it by throwing Acosta back against the cage.
Acosta is looking to break free of the clinch but Meyer has double underhooks.
Still in the clinch, Acosta scores with a nice short uppercut.
Meyer tries to pull guard but Acosta won't allow it.
Acosta doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Horrible takedown attempt by Meyer or perhaps it was just good defense by Acosta, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Meyer moves out of range as Acosta strikes.
Meyer tries to counter with a clinch but Acosta shakes him off and moves away.

Meyer dodges the punch combination from Acosta.
Meyer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Acosta throws out the jab.

Acosta misses with the combination.

Acosta lands a left and a right that send Meyer crashing to the mat, dazed. Acosta thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Oscar Meyer has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Meyer has managed to clinch.

Meyer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Acosta fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Meyer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Acosta lands a nice shot that snaps Meyer's head back.
Nice takedown defense from Acosta. No joy for Meyer on that attempt.

Acosta wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Meyer has him pressed against the cage.

Acosta tries to free his leg and advance position but Meyer is retaining full guard.

Meyer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Acosta defends well.

Acosta wants to break free but Meyer has control.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Meyer gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Meyer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Meyer misses with a head kick.
Acosta scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Acosta looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Meyer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Acosta avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Meyer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Acosta walks away with a smile on his face. Meyer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Acosta tries to bum rush Meyer with a series of wild strikes but Meyer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Acosta swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Acosta is trying to break the clinch but Meyer is controlling him.
Acosta prevents the takedown attempt.
Acosta wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Acosta wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Meyer has him pressed against the cage.

Meyer jumps guard and drags Acosta to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Acosta wants to control from the top but Meyer keeps moving.
Acosta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Acosta drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Acosta as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Meyer screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Acosta! Nice submission victory there!
