Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gotan Wasselach (ranked 2199 p4p, 4162 weight class) and Rakeem Marley (ranked 290 p4p, 514 weight class). Wasselach comes to the cage accompanied by Time Is On My Side. Marley has chosen Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wasselach counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wasselach throws a body shot but no joy.
Marley misses with a left hand
and Marley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Rakeem Marley has been cut.
Marley throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wasselach makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Wasselach swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Marley falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wasselach counters with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wasselach tried to score with a low kick but Marley checks it.
Marley on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Marley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marley shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Wasselach tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marley was well out of range. Poor timing from Wasselach.
And Marley responds with a good body kick, but Wasselach manages to step out the way in time.

Marley swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wasselach counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Marley lands with a good body shot.
Marley throws a hook but Wasselach avoids it easily.
Marley lunges at Wasselach with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wasselach's hand.

It looks like Gotan Wasselach has been cut.
Marley throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wasselach.
Wasselach tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marley was well out of range. Poor timing from Wasselach.
Wasselach ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Wasselach is looking to wear down Marley with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Marley misses with a right hand

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marley throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wasselach counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Marley lands an overhand right.
Marley is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Marley checks a low kick from Wasselach.
Marley lands with a slapping head kick.
Marley stuns Wasselach with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wasselach throws a sloppy head kick and Marley moves out of range easily.
Marley tries to clinch but Wasselach moves out of range.

Marley punishes Wasselach's body with a nice straight punch.
Marley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Marley is rocked!
Wasselach measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Marley! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Gotan Wasselach!
After the fight, Gotan Wasselach was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
