Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Yung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and River Walken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). River Walken is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yung gets a clinch. Walken looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Yung tries to pull guard but Walken holds him up against the cage and eventually Yung drops back down to his feet.
Yung jumps guard but Walken stands there with Yung around his waist. Yung gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Knees to the body from Yung.
Yung slows down the pace here.
Yung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Yung shoots in for a double leg but Walken sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sonny Yung. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walken lands with a kick to the temple. Yung shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Yung will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Walken fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Yung misses with a double jab.
Yung clinches up against the cage. Yung has had enough of the clinch but Walken keeps him there for the moment. Yung's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Yung misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Yung wants to control from the top but Walken keeps moving. Yung slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Yung has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Walken looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Yung passes into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yung has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Yung is looking to clinch but Walken is avoiding it.
Yung drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yung stands up and waves to Walken to follow him. A head kick by Yung misses and Walken counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Walken wants to work for an arm triangle but Yung is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Yung is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Walken's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Walken's back! Yung is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Walken showing good submission defense here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. What can Walken do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Walken is in bad spot here.

Walken shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Yung counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Yung closes the distance and lands a one-two. Yung throws a nice looking combination but Walken bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Walken showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Yung.
Yung feints and as Walken raises his hands in defense, Yung changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walken keeping moving, preventing Yung from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walken is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Yung advances to half guard. Walken is looking for a sweep. Yung is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Walken wants to control but Yung is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yung fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Yung closes the distance and clinches. Yung pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Walken with a lazy takedown attempt and Yung counters with a nice double leg into side control. Walken won't be happy with that. Walken is trying to improve his position. Walken tries to strike but it doesn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Walken struggling a bit here. Yung trying to control the action but Walken is working from the bottom. Yung is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Walken is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yung throws a head kick that half lands.
Walken stuffs the takedown attempt from Yung. Yung gets slowly back to his feet. Walken shoots and misses and Yung counters with a one-two to the body. Sonny Yung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of River Walken. Walken looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Yung. The fight stays on the outside here - Yung looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Walken tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yung swivels and escapes. Yung has closed the distance and engaged Walken in a clinch.

Sonny Yung dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Yung is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Walken is trying to escape and Yung transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Walken is forced to tap! Nice work there by Yung! Very nice indeed!
