The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boy pinned against the cage. Boy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Phillips moves out of range as Boy strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Phillips looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Phillips tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Boy works Phillips's body with a nice hook.
Phillips is looking to clinch.
Phillips shoots for a double leg takedown but Boy sprawls well. He's pushed Phillips's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Phillips tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Phillips takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Boy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boy lands a jab to Phillips's midsection.
Phillips is looking to clinch but Boy is avoiding it.
Boy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Phillips changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boy tries to avoid it but Phillips manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boy to the ground. Boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Island Boy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Phillips.

Boy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Phillips is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boy pulls his head out easily.
Boy is thwarting Phillips's attempts to control the position.

Phillips is pressing down on Boy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Phillips manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boy manages to get himself to full guard.

Phillips stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boy is trying to control Phillips's posture. Phillips takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Boy! Phillips is rotating here... this could be the end... Boy is out! Phillips has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
