Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faria comes to the cage accompanied by Quiribamba. Felipe Faria has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Faria!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dick Williams!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams closes the distance and clinches.
Williams has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Faria is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Williams is trying to break the clinch but Faria has him pressed against the cage.
Faria prevents a takedown attempt there.
Faria prevents the takedown attempt.
Felipe Faria has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dick Williams.
Williams is pushing Faria up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Faria ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Faria no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Faria pulls Williams in close to prevent any damage.
Williams wants to control from the top but Faria keeps moving.

Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Williams gets to his feet - Faria follows without any prompting.
Faria changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Faria manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Williams takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Williams fails with a takedown attempt.
Faria throws a head kick that misses.

Faria closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Faria lands in his opponent's guard.
Williams wants to stand up but Faria is controlling him.
Williams looks gassed!

Faria's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Faria trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.
Faria is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Williams is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Faria not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Faria wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Faria slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Faria won't allow Williams to sweep him here.
Faria trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Faria stays in close to Williams's body and controls the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Faria stands and steps away. Williams gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Faria throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Faria misses with a hook. Williams ducked under it nicely.

Williams jumps into guard, dragging Faria to the mat.
Williams is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Faria wants to clinch

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Faria fights it but they end up in guard.
Faria is controlling Williams's posture.
Faria is trying to hold Williams in close to prevent damage but Williams has managed to pass into half guard.

Williams is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Faria still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Faria has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Faria tries for a kimura but Williams is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Faria tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Faria has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Faria blocks a head kick by Williams.
Faria tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance.

Williams closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Faria wants to improve his position but Williams is controlling well.
Faria is staying active underneath Williams, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Faria trying to control from the bottom.
Williams wants to lay and pray for a moment but Faria keeps working.
Faria is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Faria is looking to control Williams's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Faria avoid being mounted?
Williams is nestled in close to Faria, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Williams gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Faria shoots and misses

and Williams holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Williams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Faria is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Faria wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Williams has him pressed against the cage.
Williams stalling.
Faria is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felipe Faria. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Williams manages to pull guard.
Faria stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Faria has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Dick Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Williams is looking to advance position but Faria won't allow it.

Williams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Faria does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Faria moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Faria manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

Faria stands up and waves to Williams to follow him.

Williams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Faria, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Faria is trying to trip Williams. He has hold of a leg but Williams is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Faria persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Faria tries to stand but Williams is controlling from the bottom.
Williams is trying to control the position but Faria postures up.
Williams has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Faria has passed into side control.

Faria tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Williams is not content to let Faria control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dick Williams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Williams has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
