Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Cowan (ranked 487 p4p, 1623 weight class) and Ricky Greene (ranked 29 p4p, 94 weight class). Greene has chosen Stepdad- Eminem as his entrance music. Ricky Greene has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mickey Cowan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Cowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Greene!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowan misses with a left hand

and Greene counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Greene.

Greene has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cowan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Greene isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cowan stacks Greene on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cowan!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cowan in particular looking to stall.

Cowan moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Greene.

That was a close round but I would say that Mickey Cowan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Greene shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Greene ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cowan moves away.
Cowan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've been told by Cowan's head coaches at GWad's Playpen that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Greene changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cowan tries to avoid it but Greene manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cowan to the ground. Cowan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Greene is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cowan.

Greene uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cowan.
