The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warren shoots and misses
and Penrose counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Warren.
No luck for Warren with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tank Warren. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Warren closes this distance looking for a takedown but Penrose circles away.
Warren throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Penrose's waist but Penrose gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Warren off to one side.
Penrose stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Penrose wants it to stay on the feet.
Penrose scores with a sloppy right hand. Warren should have avoided that one.
Warren shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penrose as he jumps to the side.
Penrose throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Warren on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warren tries for a takedown but Penrose sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tank Warren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penrose takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Warren is breathing heavily.

Warren closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Penrose is controlling Warren's trapped leg to prevent Warren from advancing to side control.
Penrose is looking to improve his position.
Warren throwing shots but Penrose is blocking nicely.
Warren throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Warren is nestled in close to Penrose, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like Roger Penrose has been cut.
Warren thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Warren is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penrose blocking the ground and pound.

Warren unloads with some shots from mount but Penrose bucks and avoids them well.
Penrose is bucking up trying to escape but Warren cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That has opened up Roger Penrose's cut even more.
Warren is landing with some decent strikes but Penrose is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Roger Penrose's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Roger Penrose's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
