The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Brooks - just one landing.
A nice combination there by Brooks.
Bronx Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brooks swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Ranger holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Ranger pulls guard successfully.
Brooks wants to get up but he can't break Ranger's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Brooks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brooks is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ranger has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Brooks is looking to defend but Ranger has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Brooks! Ranger pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Brooks taps out and this one is all over!
