Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robby Fowel (ranked 4807 p4p, 3330 weight class) and Tony Stamos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robby Fowel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tony Stamos! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stamos misses with a looping left. Fowel shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Stamos tries to kick Fowel off but Fowel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Fowel trying to pass the guard but Stamos defending well. Fowel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stamos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fowel is trying to work for a kimura but Stamos is defending well.
Fowel wants to control but Stamos is keeping him busy. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stamos can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fowel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stamos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fowel. Fowel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stamos is just riding it out for now. Fowel eventually gives up the hold. Stamos is staying active underneath Fowel, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fowel works his foot free and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fowel is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Stamos is surviving well by controlling Fowel's body position as best he can. Fowel controlling the pace for now. Fowel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stamos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
