Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Dave Wearmouth (ranked 3004 p4p, 4314 weight class) and Manu Ahonen (ranked 391 p4p, 512 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 24 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manu Ahonen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Ahonen.
Ahonen tries a head kick but it misses.
It looked like Wearmouth wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Ahonen keeps the fight on the outside.
Ahonen throws a leg kick
and Wearmouth counters with a series of strikes. Ahonen will be more careful next time no doubt.
Wearmouth misses with a low kick.
Wearmouth displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ahonen throws out the jab.
Wearmouth doesn't manage to clinch there - Ahonen circles away.
Ahonen throws out a powerful jab.
Ahonen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wearmouth.
Ahonen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Ahonen lands with a right hand.
Ahonen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wearmouth sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wearmouth moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Wearmouth doesn't manage to clinch there - Ahonen circles away.

Wearmouth takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Wearmouth has Ahonen up against the ropes in a clinch.
Ahonen tries to work over Wearmouth's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Wearmouth looks to throw an elbow but misses.

With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Wearmouth just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ahonen's brow.

Wearmouth definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ahonen has had enough of the clinch but Wearmouth keeps him there for the moment.

Wearmouth gets through Ahonen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ahonen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ahonen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ahonen, as that shot connected.
Ahonen looks to score with a jab to the body but Wearmouth is just out of range.
Wearmouth throws a body shot but no joy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ahonen feints a jab promting Wearmouth to slip. Ahonen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wearmouth slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Ahonen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Ahonen catches Wearmouth with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wearmouth lands the left hand.
Ahonen throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Ahonen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Ahonen throws a nice looking combination but Wearmouth bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wearmouth walks into a straight right hand from Ahonen.
Wearmouth misses with an uppercut.
Wearmouth takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wearmouth scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Wearmouth connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

and Wearmouth counters with a nice uppercut.

Wearmouth lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Ahonen out cold! Ahonen is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the ropes! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Dave Wearmouth decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
