Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Bob McDonald (ranked 362 p4p, 306 weight class) and Inspektor Gee (ranked 59 p4p, 51 weight class). McDonald comes to the cage accompanied by Ray Wylie Hubbard - Redneck Mother. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from McDonald misses.
McDonald tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gee was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonald.
Gee takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
McDonald throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Gee's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

I was talking to McDonald's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Gee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Gee is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. McDonald presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
McDonald misses with some punches.
McDonald lands a hook that snaps the head of Gee backwards.
McDonald swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McDonald throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

McDonald pulls guard successfully.
Gee wants to stand but McDonald is controlling his posture from full guard.
McDonald wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
McDonald looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
McDonald bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gee's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McDonald arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Gee's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
