Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Martin (ranked 25315 p4p, 3757 weight class) and Konstantin The Russian Giant (ranked 203 p4p, 121 weight class). The Russian Giant has chosen Soda Popinski Theme as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Konstantin The Russian Giant! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin tests The Russian Giant's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Konstantin The Russian Giant has been cut. Martin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Martin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and The Russian Giant holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Martin working hard to break the clinch. The Russian Giant has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Martin uses from the top position. Martin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of The Russian Giant is proving hard to escape from. Martin with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The Russian Giant looking for a sweep. Not yet The Russian Giant, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin wants to pass the guard but The Russian Giant is keeping the position. Martin throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin looking to sit in guard and control but The Russian Giant gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The Russian Giant wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving. The Russian Giant stands up from Martin's guard - The Russian Giant perhaps looking for a knockout. John Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The Russian Giant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily. Martin is looking for a counter combo. Martin fails to land with a series of punches.
Martin throws a lazy right hand but The Russian Giant sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Martin throws a nice looking combination but The Russian Giant bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Martin misses with a lunging right hand
and The Russian Giant counters with a series of strikes. Martin will be more careful next time no doubt. Martin throws a series of punches but The Russian Giant avoids them all with ease. The Russian Giant moves out of range of the strikes. Martin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Russian Giant swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The Russian Giant slips a jab from Martin. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Martin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Russian Giant circles away quickly and effectively. Martin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The Russian Giant slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The Russian Giant working some strikes from top position.
John Martin's cut is getting worse. Martin has an active guard here but The Russian Giant has managed to pass into half guard.
Martin is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin looking for a kimura from the bottom but The Russian Giant passes into side control! The Russian Giant is chipping away with strikes.
John Martin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. The Russian Giant wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Martin, who protects the arm well. Martin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Martin tries to get out of the position. Martin trying to control but The Russian Giant flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! The Russian Giant tries to keep control of the position but Martin is staying busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Russian Giant has the hooks in. Martin is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The Russian Giant is cranking Martin's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Martin! He's tightened the choke and Martin is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Konstantin The Russian Giant! Konstantin The Russian Giant opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
