Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Reese (ranked 6263 p4p, 3773 weight class) and Ragnar Ragnarson (ranked 674 p4p, 493 weight class). Ragnar Ragnarson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Reese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ragnar Ragnarson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Reese looking to score a takedown here. Ragnarson is defending well but Reese drives through and ends up in Ragnarson's guard.
Reese is standing up over Ragnarson. Ragnarson looks to escape but Reese dives into side control.

Ragnarson is not content to let Reese control the position.
Ragnarson pushes Reese away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Reese gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ragnarson is trying to escape the position but Reese is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reese working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ragnarson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reese is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ragnarson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Reese takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ragnarson is trying to stand up.
Reese looking to finish Ragnarson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ragnarson!

Ragnarson is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Reese content just to control the position here.
Ragnarson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ragnarson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reese controlling from mount.
Ragnarson is working to get back to half guard.

Ragnarson wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Ragnarson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Ragnarson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Reese trying to control momentarily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ragnarson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Ragnarson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reese. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Reese is persistently looking for the submission but Ragnarson is defending it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Reese dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Reese misses with a takedown attempt - Ragnarson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Reese wants to clinch up but Ragnarson keeps it at a distance.
Reese is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ragnarson can do to turn this around?
Ragnarson throws a low kick, looking for Reese's leg but Reese calmly moves out of range.
John Reese is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ragnarson darts in and clinches Reese up against the cage.
Reese blocks an uppercut.
Reese jumps guard but Ragnarson stands there with Reese around his waist. Reese gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ragnarson prevents the takedown attempt.
Ragnarson's coach down at Rad's Flying Circus was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ragnarson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Reese. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ragnarson misses with a punch to the body.
Ragnarson misses with the head strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ragnarson misses with a body punch.
Ragnarson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Reese tries to pull guard but Ragnarson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Ragnarson lands with a short shot to the head.
Ragnarson lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

A head punch on the inside from Ragnarson fails to land.
Reese jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ragnarson walks away with a smile on his face. Reese gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ragnar Ragnarson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ragnarson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Ragnarson with a nice calf kick.
Ragnar Ragnarson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ragnarson misses with a wild combination.
Reese fails to land with a series of punches.
Ragnarson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Reese drops his hands momentarily and Ragnarson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jab, jab by Ragnarson - just one landing.
Ragnarson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Reese stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ragnarson lands a left and a right that send Reese crashing to the mat, dazed. Ragnarson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Reese tries to close the distance and clinch but Ragnarson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Reese shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ragnarson is trying to defend but Reese finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ragnarson looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ragnarson wants to stand back up but Reese manages to pass into side control.
Ragnarson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reese is controlling him well.
Reese wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ragnarson keeps working.
Ragnarson is looking to get back to his feet here but Reese is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ragnarson's back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ragnarson manages to stand up with Reese still on his back. Eventually Reese drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Ragnarson lands a nice shot that snaps Reese's head back.
Ragnarson misses with a low kick.
Reese throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reese has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Ragnarson.
Ragnarson's corner calls for a 1-2. Ragnarson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ragnarson lands a left and a right that send Reese crashing to the mat, dazed. Ragnarson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Reese is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ragnarson fakes the body blow, causing Reese to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Reese goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ragnar Ragnarson!
After winning the bout, Ragnar Ragnarson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
