PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Lee (ranked 3847 p4p, 4266 weight class) and Phuc Tran (ranked 352 p4p, 377 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Enter the Dragon - Zero. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Phuc Tran!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tran moves into the clinch.
Tran is trying to drag Lee to the mat but Lee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Lee motions for Tran to come forward. Lee throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lee lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tran's sensitive parts.
Lee misses with a low kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Lee checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lee lands a nice hook to Tran's body. Tran takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Tran.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Tran is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Tran shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tran checks a low kick from Lee.
Tran has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tran there as he acknowledges the shot.
Lee fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Tran checks it well.
A clash of legs there as Tran blocks the low kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lee.
Tran fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brandon Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phuc Tran.
A good leg kick by Lee.
Tran has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tran there as he acknowledges the shot.
Brandon Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Some bone on bone action there as Tran checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lee lands a leg kick that knocks Tran off balance momentarily.
Lee moves away from the strike by Tran.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tran momentarily.
Lee shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lee misses with a body punch

and Tran counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tran is working to tighten his grip on Lee's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lee has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Tran is really squeezing tight and eventually Lee passes out! Tran breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
