Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grey Ape (ranked 315 p4p, 270 weight class) and Patrick River (ranked 39 p4p, 37 weight class). River has chosen Pantera - Walk as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Patrick River was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Grey Ape!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Patrick River!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ape has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Infamous Duranto Gym in the buildup to the fight.
A cross from River lands.
Ape swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
River blocks a jab.
River fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ape looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
River tries to land a front kick but Ape steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ape moves into range and clinches up with River.

Ape tries to land a knee to the head but River blocks with his arms.
Ape is trying to maintain a safe position but River gets an underhook and turns Ape into the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Grey Ape.
