Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dale Doback (ranked 2002 p4p, 5261 weight class) and Ryan Hanley (ranked 248 p4p, 600 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dale Doback!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Hanley!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doback lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Ryan Hanley has been cut.
Doback looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hanley fails with the takedown
and Doback counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hanley tries to clinch up.
Doback scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hanley in his tracks.

Hanley shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Doback tries to roll over but Hanley keeps him under control.
Hanley keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hanley trying to control from half guard but Doback is working away.

Hanley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Doback sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hanley stands up out of the half guard.
Hanley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Doback.
Hanley moves in looking to clinch but Doback pushes him off.
Dale Doback is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hanley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Doback sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Doback cracks Hanley with a good jab.

Hanley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doback but Doback pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Hanley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Doback won't be happy with that.

Hanley tries to advance position but instead Doback slips a leg back in to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanley is trying to work for a kimura but Doback is defending well.

Hanley decides to stand and escape the position.
Doback throws a jab but it's blocked by Hanley.
Hanley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Doback.
Hanley dives in and grabs Doback's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doback pushes down on Hanley's head and hops out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Doback enables Hanley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Doback manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hanley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Doback's guard.
Hanley is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hanley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Doback knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hanley on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hanley goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Doback rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hanley's guard! Nice work there by Doback!
Hanley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Doback's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanley trying to control the position from guard on top but Doback is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Doback's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hanley is looking to take a break and control but Doback is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hanley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hanley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close second round but I would say that Dale Doback will probably get the nod.

Hanley dives in and grabs Doback's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doback pushes down on Hanley's head and hops out.

Hanley shoots for a takedown but Doback saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Doback is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hanley can do to turn this around?

Nice straight punches there by Doback. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Doback.

Hanley feints and as Doback raises his hands in defense, Hanley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hanley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Doback does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hanley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Doback's head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Doback, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
