Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Braun Westen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adan Puno!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puno lands a left and a right that send Westen crashing to the mat, dazed. Puno thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Braun Westen has been cut.
Westen throws a right hand that misses
and Puno counters with a slapping leg kick.
Puno cracks Westen with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Westen looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Puno finish him?
Westen is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Westen throws a leg kick that is checked
and Puno counters with a right hand to the body.
Westen throws a sloppy head kick and Puno moves out of range easily.
Westen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Puno drops Westen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Westen looks back up at him and smiles so Puno waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Puno lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Puno blocks a head kick by Westen.
Puno drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Westen right on the button. Westen goes down! Puno follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Puno gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adan Puno!
