Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Pugsley (ranked 5033 p4p, 4818 weight class) and Bohdan Doubek (ranked 409 p4p, 404 weight class). Bohdan Doubek will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arthur Pugsley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bohdan Doubek! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pugsley tries to clinch up. Pugsley has taken the fight to the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Doubek wants to take the fight to the mat but Pugsley manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Pugsley lands a right hand. Doubek lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Doubek stalling. Doubek not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pugsley tries to get to full guard but Doubek has control of the leg. Doubek throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doubek throwing shots but Pugsley is blocking nicely. Pugsley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Doubek thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Doubek is looking to take a break and control but Pugsley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Doubek slows the pace down in half guard. Doubek sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pugsley defending well though.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pugsley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Pugsley gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pugsley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Doubek defends it nicely. Doubek doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pugsley tries to clinch and Doubek counters with a takedown into side control. Pugsley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Doubek on the ground. Pugsley prevents Doubek from improving position. Doubek throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Pugsley is trying to get back to half guard. Doubek tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Doubek landing a few strikes. Pugsley regains half guard, as Doubek was trying to land strikes. Doubek throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doubek is trying to control the action in half guard but Pugsley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Doubek looks to land a strike but Pugsley avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Pugsley wants to sweep but no luck. Doubek working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Doubek wants to pass the guard but Pugsley is keeping the position. Pugsley working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Doubek.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pugsley definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pugsley on the wrong end of a nice hook. Pugsley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Doubek defends well and Pugsley ends up having to push Doubek into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Pugsley. Pugsley is defending well against a takedown attempt. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Pugsley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Doubek breaks the clinch.
Pugsley darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Doubek tries to kick Pugsley off but Pugsley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Doubek is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Still in half guard, Pugsley seems content to control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bohdan Doubek dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Pugsley goes for a double leg but Doubek avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Doubek continues to drive forward. Doubek looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Pugsley is pressed up against the cage. Doubek has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pugsley down to the mat. Pugsley avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Pugsley fails with a takedown attempt. Pugsley gets a clinch. Doubek has Pugsley pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Doubek pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pugsley tumbling to the mat - Doubek dives into Pugsley's guard. Doubek looking to pass the guard. Pugsley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Doubek trying to control the position from guard on top but Pugsley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pugsley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Doubek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pugsley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Doubek trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pugsley passes to side control. Pugsley is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Pugsley working away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Doubek can do anything to dispel that myth. Pugsley just content to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doubek prevents Pugsley from improving position. The referee asks Pugsley politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pugsley prefers to stall for the moment though. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Pugsley's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arthur Pugsley will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Pugsley moves into full mount! Doubek won't be happy about that! Doubek is bucking up trying to escape but Pugsley cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Doubek sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Pugsley wants to free his trapped foot but Doubek is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pugsley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pugsley is figuring out what he wants to do next. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pugsley works his foot free and advances to mount. Pugsley postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Doubek looks a forlorn figure.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pugsley trying to control the pace. Pugsley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Doubek for as long as he can get away with. Doubek trying to control but Pugsley postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Doubek wants to get back to full guard. Pugsley with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Doubek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pugsley scoring with strikes to the body and head. Pugsley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Doubek is just riding it out for now. Pugsley eventually gives up the hold. Well, if Pugsley is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
