This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 26 wins and 18 losses; Morrison Lee! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 16 losses; Bjj Steel!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Lee gets the takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Lee (4) vs (0) Steel
Steel tries to improve position but can't.
Steel is not content to let Lee control the position.
Lee is really struggling to control Steel but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Steel regains half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel won't allow Lee to pass to mount.
Steel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lee seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Steel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee fails to take his opponent's back.
Steel is squirming around, avoiding Lee's attempts to control the action.
Steel wants to hold on but Lee pushes him away.
Steel is trying desperately to improve position.
Steel holds on to Lee around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Lee extends the arm and Steel is forced to tap!
