Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tataglia tries for a takedown but Aerts sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No luck for Tataglia with that takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tataglia. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luigi Tataglia. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tataglia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aerts as he jumps to the side. Aerts misses with a jab, cross combination.
Aerts tries to land a front kick but Tataglia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Aerts moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Aerts has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tataglia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tataglia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Aerts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tataglia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tataglia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tataglia moves out of range as Aerts throws a body kick.

Tataglia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Tataglia looks for a takedown but Aerts sprawls well. Aerts fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Tataglia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aerts tries to avoid it but Tataglia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aerts to the ground. Aerts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Aerts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tataglia manages to avoid it. Tataglia looks for a takedown but Aerts sprawls well. Tataglia fails with the takedown and Aerts counters with a straight right hand. Aerts will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tataglia shoots in but Aerts avoids the takedown attempt easily. Aerts chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Aerts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Aerts landing knees to the head.

Andy Aerts dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tataglia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tataglia lands in his opponent's guard. Tataglia gets to his feet - Aerts follows without any prompting. Aerts fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tataglia. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. A head kick from Aerts lands but Tataglia takes it in his stride. Tataglia shoots and misses and Aerts counters with a body kick that stops Tataglia in his tracks momentarily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aerts swinging wilding here.
Aerts scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

He's got his arms around Aerts's waist but Aerts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tataglia off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luigi Tataglia. That's going to take a lot out of him. A punch combination from Aerts misses. Aerts keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tataglia avoids a punch combination nicely.

Aerts decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tataglia, up you get! Aerts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Andy Aerts is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
