Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Morgan Malig (ranked 2114 p4p, 2307 weight class) and Vudu Sims (ranked 123 p4p, 143 weight class). Vudu Sims will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malig needs to keep his hands up - Sims had a free shot at his head there.

A nice side step and Sims releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Sims is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Malig had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Sims might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sims has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Malig has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Malig has hold of Sims's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sims manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Malig jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sims is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sims and Malig has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
