Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lance Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Harrison will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lance Steele!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele wants to clinch up but Harrison keeps it at a distance.
Steele doesn't manage to clinch there - Harrison circles away.
Harrison cracks a nice hook into Steele's ribs.

Harrison throws a series of punches but Steele avoids them all with ease.
Harrison misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Steele.
Steele fails in his attempt to clinch.
Steele defending well as Harrison loads up on a big left hand.
Steele wants to clinch up but Harrison keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch but Harrison swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circling - Harrison throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Steele. Harrison shrugs it off though.
Nice defenses there by Steele.

Harrison moves out of range as Steele throws a body kick.
Steele throws a predictable looking body shot

and Harrison counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Steele looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harrison is one step ahead there.
Harrison slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Harrison wants to control from the top but Steele keeps moving.
Steele wants to sweep but no luck.
Steele is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Steele is stalling here. Harrison is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Steele seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Harrison has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Steele manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Harrison is trying to maintain the position but Steele is very close to passing his half guard.
Steele is keen to just control but Harrison is a slippery customer.
Harrison makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harrison.
Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Harrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steele pushes down on Harrison's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Steele trying to control the action but Harrison is working from the bottom.

Steele looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Harrison preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Harrison has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Steele is working away from the top position though.
Steele is trying to control. Harrison wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Harrison keeps the fight on the outside.
Harrison throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Harrison avoids the head kick by Steele.
Steele doesn't manage to clinch there - Harrison circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Harrison will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A shot to the body from Harrison misses
and Steele counters with a head kick.
Steele lands a big head kick that sends Harrison to the canvas! Steele follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lance Steele!
Lance Steele is the new welterweight champion!
